What would you do if you inherited a train depot? Join us at the Rural Hall Historic Train Depot and Railroad Museum on Saturday, February 18 at 11:00 a.m. where Donna Jo Abernethy will tell you exactly what she did -- and what she continues to do -- with her very unique inheritance. She will also share the story of how her father, D. J. Redding, saved the Depot from demolition, restored it, and created a museum of railroad-related artifacts. The Depot was recognized as a Forsyth County Historic Property in 1981; and in 1983, it was entered into the National Register of Historic Places. Don't miss your opportunity to hear this preservation success story, take a tour of the incredible building, and step inside the little red caboose. Abernethy may even let you ring a locomotive bell! The cost of the tour is $10.00 for members and $20.00 for non-members. Register today as only 35 spaces are available!
