An "Introduction to Cemetery Monument Preservation" workshop will be presented by Michael and Hilary Bouton-Verville of Verville Interiors & Preservation on Saturday, May 13 at Odd Fellows Cemetery. The program begins at 10:00 a.m. and will last approximately 3-4 hours. This hands-on workshop will include a lecture on best practices, proper materials, identifying stone, common damages, repairs, and more. Verville Preservation staff will demonstrate a variety of cleaning, straightening, leveling, and minor repair techniques. Repairs may include reattaching unbroken headstones to bases, or other appropriate repairs. Tools and materials will be provided; participants should bring their own gloves and wear comfortable, close-toed shoes. All participants will be given a 32oz. bottle of D/2 (an effective, biological solution used to clean headstones) thanks to a donation from Beeck Mineral Paints. The cost of the workshop, which is limited to 20 participants, is $10.00 (for members and non-members). Be sure to sign up today!
