Membership Log In/Changes
Join us in Pfafftown on Wednesday, October 8 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. for a tour of the William Henry and Sarah Hauser Speas House. Located in western Forsyth County (approximately 11 miles northwest of downtown Winston-Salem), the house was built c. 1850 as a two-story, Greek Revival style brick I-house. In 1879, the house was enlarged with a two-story, gabled brick wing and maintains a high level of material integrity including: loadbearing brick walls, gable end brick chimneys, doors, windows, mantels, plaster walls, and wide pine floors and ceilings. The tour will be led by homeowner Mary T. “Tree” Bright. The cost of the tour is $30.00 for members and $40.00 for non-members. Refreshments will be provided.
